What little boy doesn't dream of be a firefighter and riding beside his hero in a big, red fire engine? For birthday-boy, Saylor, who wears his fire hat and coat everyday without fail, a firefighter themed birthday party was the perfect way to turn three.
The celebration was held at the family's home and guests were seated at picnic tables decorated in a festive fire fighter theme. The table scheme included red and white checked linens and table runners that seemed to be consumed in flames. Each table was topped off with an antique fire engine centerpiece. Hungry guests were treated to five-alarm firehouse chili, complete with all the toppings, and fresh hearty subs.
To the surprise and delight of the birthday-boy, the Station #9 fire engine, along with the entire engine crew, arrived at the party dressed in full fire gear. They explained the equipment, answered questions, and allowed the excited guests to explore the fire truck and try on real firefighter coats, boots and helmets.
To complete their un-fire-gettable fire fighter experience each child received a Fire Chief Hat with a custom Penny Fire House label, as well as a fire engine box filled with a fire fighter T-shirt, fire extinguisher candy and a yummy themed cookie.
