Nothing compares to an old-fashioned picnic party like the one thrown by Courtney Scholl of Bash. "The twins are a boy and a girl so we selected this classic picnic because we wanted a party that was gender neutral and fun for everyone," Courtney explains.
Invitations to the picnic party for two were printed on natural paper, attached with a classic raffia bow and topped off with painted cherries. The outdoor celebration was held at the historic Haywood Hall in downtown Raleigh.
The food consisted of picnic boxes with custom designed labels and bamboo utensils. Corn and orzo salad served in mini mason jars, lemon picnic chicken and homemade potato chips were served to the adults. The kids feasted on their choice of ham and cheese or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, fruit salad served in mini mason jars and potato chips. Old-fashioned sodas, tea and lemonade with a decorated straw were served to the guests. Assorted sweets and cookies were brought out along with a fantastic picnic-themed cake and small smash cakes with ant decorations for the twins. Picnic tables were draped in red and white gingham tablecloths and shaded by beautiful canvas umbrellas. Mason jars filled with tulips, roses, hydrangeas, daisies and spider mums were arranged together on each table. Timeless games of croquet and bocce ball commenced while onlookers filled the air with festive bubbles. Stacy Clearman's LittleLand and contemporary children's music entertained partygoers young and old. Picnic baskets containing juice, a soda, a decorated cookie and mini pies packaged in individual boxes (complete with a napkin and two forks) were given to each guest as party favors for a picnic of their own.
