When Casey Clark of Wilmington first laid eyes on Baby Swank's modern tree (brown polka-dotted bird mural) it was love at bird sight. Casey had a definite vision and it took the artistic know how of Baby Swank's creative combo, Melanie Mann and Jamie Mayo, to turn the Clark's simple nursery with pale blue walls into a one-of-a-kind room.

The witty brown and white polka dotted bird became the nursery's focal point. The same polka dotted pattern is echoed on the other rich, chocolate brown walls. "The vivid chocolate color makes a strong statement in this stunning room," Melanie tells us. "On the wall opposite the crib is a tree mural, which mirrors the colors in the bedding and ties the nursery together."

Delicate green handmade draperies accent the long windows beautifully. "We used a modern dark wood and lacquered Oeuf classic crib in white to emphasize the bold retro floral bedding set," Melanie says.

Custom artwork highlights the modern elements of the room but also makes the space very personal. An unexpected dash of whimsical mixed into this updated room makes this nursery truly unique.
