The transition from a caterpillar to a butterfly best describes this delightful nursery that will one day become a young lady's room.
"Butterfly Kisses is the theme of this nursery and I wanted to create a room that grows as the child grows and evolves from a little girl to a teenager." Tonia Michno, owner and master artists of the Barefoot Artist, Inc. explains. Selecting just the right butterflies to match the bedding was an important decision when it came time to paint. "I used the main colors in the bedding when selecting the butterflies." Tonia says. "I added a few extra colors in the background of the mural to provide softness."
Since the bedding theme is simple black and white butterflies, the contrast of realistic butterflies painted on the wall throughout the room was the perfect touch - thanks to the help of Angier Paint and Wallpaper. Inspired by the Edward Walker collection, the simple and elegant design of the bedding and draperies motivated Tonia to create a bold and complementary background.
The black shag rug and accessories creates the correct balance of contrast with the white bedroom furniture. An eye-catching chandelier puts the finishing touch on this sensational room.
