Whether it's just after the birthday party, after your shower, or just after announcements go out, you'll likely be flooded with thoughtful gifts. Though you've probably written thank you notes before, many moms feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of notes they must write. We racked our collective brains and spoke with stationers at the Triangle's best shops for tips on writing a truly great thank you note.
Especially in our technologically advanced world, a hand-written note conveys a personal, intimate expression of thanks.
Gift givers don't feel that you genuinely love their gift if you wait six months to say thank you.
Though the note should be written in the first person, it's nice to include your husband's thoughts about the gift.
Don't worry about crafting the perfect sentence. Rather, tell them what you love about the gift and thank them in a heartfelt and genuine way.
Dear Aunt Cathy,
Thank you so much for the beautiful receiving blanket. I have already folded it on little Emma's crib. When Bill came home from work, he immediately noticed it. When I told him that you made it, he smiled and commented on the one that you made for him when he was little. I hope that little Emma treasure's it like Bill treasured his blanket. I can't wait to see her wrapped in it. I promise to send you a picture of her in it when we bring her home from the hospital.
Sincerest thanks,
Sarah Beth
